The MSc Applied Social Science will enable students to develop an understanding and applied experience of researching a number of contemporary and international issues across the areas of politics, social justice, criminology, social policy, public governance and administration. It is delivered by an international team of leading experts. This master's degree introduces students to the social and political contexts within which social science research is currently being undertaken and the uses to which social research might be put across the areas of politics, social justice, criminology, social policy, public governance and administration.
Applicants should normally hold a relevant Honours degree with a classification of 2:2 or above in any of the following subjects: social science, medicine, health, law, or social work. Candidates with a degree in another discipline, or with other professional training or experience relevant to the course specialisms, will also be considered. To demonstrate academic ability, applicants may be required to complete written work and could be invited to attend an interview prior to acceptance.
