This compulsory module will enable you to develop the knowledge, skills, expertise and confidence necessary to expand your range of assessment techniques as appropriate within your area of practice in order to determine the health status of an individual. You will develop advanced skills of clinical reasoning to be able to devise patient management plans that address the complexities of physical, psychological, mental health and social factors. You will develop competence in applying your skills of clinical decision making as you apply your assessment findings to your clinical problem.

This compulsory final module consolidates learning from previous stages of the course and requires the student to complete an intensive independent piece of work. Drawing upon all previous course learning, the student will develop a high quality, evidence based proposal for a clinical practice change in their workplace area which will demonstrate integration of the knowledge skills and behaviours required of the advanced clinical practitioner (ACP). The proposal will be formulated using level 7 academic processes and criticality, providing an evidence based rationale for the project, designing an appropriate method of implementation and evaluation. The student will showcase their acquired level of ACP practice through the project demonstrating that they have made the required professional transformation.

This compulsory module will enable you to develop the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to inform your practice as an inspirational, strategic, resilient, inclusive and innovative advanced clinical leader and educator. You will critically explore, evaluate and synthesise a range of theories to inform your collaborative leadership, education and professional development of the practice team in the delivery of quality, safe, evidence-based person-centred care.

This compulsory module introduces the learner to both the academic and clinical practice elements of the MSc course, equipping you with the skills and knowledge to study at level 7 and to start your professional transformation on the journey towards advanced practice. You will critically explore the legal, ethical, economic and political obligations, evidence based practice and critical reflection that underpin professional practice within healthcare. You will learn how to build personal and professional resilience enabling you to more effectively challenge and enhance clinical practice. Your professional portfolio will enable you consolidate and translate your learning into tangible development of your clinical practice.

This compulsory module is designed to support practitioners of health as they become increasingly research active, learning how to use evidence to support innovation and change, evaluate clinical interventions and audit clinical services against standards. You will learn about the processes involved in research, service evaluation and clinical audit, including design and methodology. Learning from this module will enable you to propose and design a simple research, audit or service evaluation project relevant to your area of practice.
