Studying film/video editing

Film and video editing courses provide students with the creative and technical skills needed to succeed in the film, TV and new media industries, helping to produce the next generation of screen creatives. You’ll learn about the fundamentals of storytelling, production and screen business skills, developing skills and techniques in areas like screenwriting, producing, directing, editing, lighting, visual effects, colour grading and audio. Your course may also include real-life experiences which will help you gain practical experience and develop a portfolio of work, through industry projects, time in the studio and placements. You may work across genres including fiction, documentary, episode and commercials. Graduates can go on to work in a range of post-production roles in media and digital companies, such as video editor, production designer, sound engineer and film director.
