There have been quite a few new study spaces created across the campus which are great for doing work in. The food at the refectory is also fantastic. However there are very few shops and variety

During my MA I became really close to the people on my course and I think the way it was set up lended itself well to making good friends and helping each other. On the other side, I think for one of my modules at least there could have been more help provided for people struggling.

I love the main buildings and the library, with it all being kept clean and organised. The classrooms are all kept well, and are comfortable to learn in. I am happy with the Co-op available, and the amount of buses available to go shopping - as I am able to find a range of plant based foods that I can eat, being vegan, without spending a fortune. I like the accomodation - as it is comfortable to live in. However, there have been a few issues that took weeks to fix (we had a toilet leaking on the floor for about a month), and there are 13 of us sharing two, fairly small, fridges and freezers. Even just having another one would make it much easier, as it is hard to defrost them when needed as we have no where to put the food, and it is hard to fit anything in there. It also makes it hard if someone has left something to start rotting, as we have a struggle of finding what exactly is causing the smell - with the fridge being stacked to the brim.

I love the English literature and creative writing course, with it being very interesting. I may not like poetry personally, but I do like the Poetry Through Practice module as it is taught well. My favourite is Transatlantic Gothic, with the nodule being very interesting every week, even for the texts I may not have liked. The module is laid out very clearly online, so it is easy to find what you need and what is expected of you. The only issue I have, is sometimes the lecturers only read off of the slides, or only have the lectures online - and I struggle with online learning, as I cannot focus properly, and I often end up speeding ahead when the lecturers are reading off of the PowerPoint. Some of the module options are a bit bad, at least for the second semester. It was hard picking one, as the options included a media module, psychology module, or an economics module. It was hard, as I have no interest In those three subjects - especially economics, as an English literature student. If there were more options, I feel like the course would be even better.

It is a lovely area, with being very close to the main campus buildings - which means It is easy to find everything I need. However, there are issued with space in the kitchen, and things not being fixed for weeks. I am in the room closest to the stairs, bathroom and kitchen - which has caused issues for me with noise - as I hear everyone slamming the doors throughout the night (I go to bed fairly early compared to everyone else). The front door does not seem to latch properly all the time, which is a big safety concern - you have to slam it shut for it to properly close, or move the latch on purpose. It is also a pain to try and do your washing at the laundrette, as we have to climb so many stairs as we are one of the further buildings.
