I think Edgehill is a comforting environment that supports students needs the best they can with the budget they have. In Drama we are at the limitation that the arts are oft underfunded meaning we are limited in both scale and quality with the work we produce however, for what we do have it works as well as it can do. The drama staff are all excellent and are so supportive and accommodating of our needs both in terms of university work and emotionally. The Arts centre building itself needs updating. Many of the walls are chipping, you can hear other classes both above and next to the room you're in and the heating is more often than not not working making 9am sessions, in particular, close to unbearable. My real issue is with the support that students get outside of the staff on our courses. As a student representative the complaint I get the most is the lack of communication students have with the support team either not responding at all or taking a while to respond if they do. Beyond this, the gender inclusivity across campus as a whole is lacking with the only gender inclusive toilets being in the catalyst. This means that non gender conforming students, myself included, must go half way across campus to feel comfortable and accepted or simply suffer using the toilets that aren't meant for them.

The drama lecturers are all wonderful, they take time and care for our needs often altering workshops to fit the things we most enjoy/ need work on the most. All of our modules this year link really well in which the information from one supports the learning of the others with the outcomes varying to broaden our knowledge of the Modernist period. Plus beyond the educational side, the course is really enjoyable. The facilities are the real problem with non gender inclusive toilets, meaning non gender conforming individuals feel uncomfortable in a the space they are in at minimum 12 hours a week. The walls need painting as they are chipping, a light outside flashes constantly and the radiators need fixing.
