What I like most about the University of Portsmouth is its strong focus on practical learning and student support. The teaching is closely linked to real-world applications, which helps students develop skills that are useful beyond university. I also appreciate the approachability of lecturers and staff, who are supportive and willing to help when students need guidance. In addition, the university’s modern facilities, industry links, and inclusive environment make it a welcoming place to study. Being located in a coastal city also creates a positive atmosphere that supports both academic life and wellbeing. One area I would like to see improved is greater access to scholarships and financial support, especially for students facing financial pressure. Expanding career-focused opportunities such as internships, placements, and networking events across all courses would also be beneficial. Additionally, improving communication on platforms like Moodle—for example, clearer deadlines and more consistent updates across modules—could help students manage their studies more effectively.

The best aspect of my course is its practical and career-focused approach. The modules are designed to link theory with real-world applications, which helps me understand how what I learn can be used in professional settings. I also value the support from lecturers, who are approachable and provide clear guidance, making the learning experience engaging and motivating. The most challenging aspect of my course is the heavy workload around assessment periods, when multiple deadlines can fall close together. At times, this can make time management difficult. However, this has also helped me develop important skills such as organisation, prioritisation, and working under pressure.
