I have thoroughly enjoyed studying at Loughborough. The campus has a special buzz to it, with fantastic facilities and an unrivalled Union. The level of sport is second to none, with the University dominating BUCS for over 30years. However, there is also a focus on recreational sports, providing opportunities for people of all abilities to participate. Hall life is extremely social, and there is lots of variety in terms of night life. I have been lectured by world leading experts, and the support given to you through your degree is extremely useful as it helps you adjust to university life.

There are dedicated careers advisors and a internal webpage posting jobs. All modules handbooks also have a skills section which mention the transferable skills you develop that you can then talk about in interviews etc.

The variety of modules that are available.

The Students Union is a brilliant venue both in the day and for nights out. The Union provides many opportunities that develop individuals skill sets, ranging from media opportunities to volunteering in the local community.

The lecture halls are brilliant, with most of them being new or recently refurbished. The sports facilities are outstanding, including a new artificial rugby pitch, a world class gym, a 50m swimming pool to name just a few examples.

The town is small but includes everything you need within walking distance. Although the nightlife is limited compared to larger towns and cities, it doesn't detract from the university experience.

The range of sports clubs and societies is amazing. The level of sport is extremely high, which has resulted in unparalleled success in the BUCS tournament. The number of society is huge, and the union is always supportive in people trying to create new societies if the demand is high enough.

Upon joining, each student is given a personal tutor, who they have meetings with in their first year. This is an opportunity to give feedback as to how you are settling in and processing with the academic work. These tutors are also available for support outside formal contact hours. Furthermore, the university offer support session in topics such a maths and languages if you need help with coursework or in understanding certain topics.

The experience has been challenging and interesting, with a huge variety of activities to help broaden my horizons and a wide range of people to get to know. The campus and it’s facilities are impressive and allow for so much fun to be had and work to be done. It’s been a very formative experience so far
