Brilliant university, great night life and lovely new student union

Easy to get in contact with most lecturers and want you to do well

The campus is lovely and it is situated close to the centre of Belfast which makes it very local. The facilities are fantastic and the new student unions building is amazing to use but the only annoying thing is that they are quite spaced out meaning a far walk which on a wet day makes you just want to go home. Parking is also terrible as it is such a busy area so unless you are down early you will have no chance of getting parked near the campus. Queens is a stunning campus to study at and I am looking forward to my 3 years studying.

The course is extremely full on. The subjects are interesting but some of the lecturers are more natural at teaching than others. This can make the learning experience challenging at times as some make teaching interesting and others just simply read from their slides. As someone who is a very visual learner I struggle to read from PowerPoints slides or just listen to a lecturer talking. I love our practical classes and the facilities for this are amazing and the lecturers are very interactive with us which adds to the fun of learning. A lot of our course content is still online which is incredibly annoying as many of us would rather be in a classroom together. At the beginning it was challenging to make friends are we weren’t given opportunities to as we were online and once the lecture ends everyone just leaves the teams call. More social interaction at the beginning of the course would be extremely helpful and help to reduce the stress of starting in a new environment.
