The student life is unbeaten and far more lively and varied than any other university SU I know of in the UK. Improvements could be made to managing volumes of students at events, eg. Queuing students should be allowed access to toilets before they enter venues.

There's a wide range of teaching materials available online and teachers go out of there way to ensure any content either missed or not fully explained in lectures is available for in depth revision online with personal attention to detail. Testing online gives way to technical issues that can cause students to lose marks.

Internet and heating is frequently down and unreliable, the distance from my subject lectures is inconvenient although that's purely relative. The room allocation means students on the ground floor are disturbed constantly by student traffic, especially late at night and this makes it unnerving leaving ground floor windows open as items are often knocked off sills and sometimes taken. It does however have the closest community 'spirit' and options for nights out together are numerous, incredibly friendly and close feelings between houses and neighbours ect.

There are so many opportunities to meet people, to get involved in societies but also access support. The sports and study facilities are kept in good condition and are accessible at most times of the day.

There are high amount of contact hours and tutors reach back when you contact them very quickly. It is easy to access support from tutors when struggling with content and the library services are quick to help as well. There is opportunity to collaborate with others on your course in group projects (which may be either an advantage or disadvantage depending on people grouped with) but in the instance where group projects don't go perfectly lecturers are typically understanding and give leniency. Course content leans towards heavy structures focus which is not completely useful during placement unless you are working for a structures specializing team. There is also limited opportunity to use CAD in the first two years which is an important software to use in industry.

Definitely value for money you get a basic room and a shared bathroom. The location is by far the best part as its situated in between the city center and the walk to the students union alongside other library facilities. There is also a greater opportunity to socialize with other flats as a result of it being a smaller site than other accommodations. Would highly recommend to anyone doing engineering as its a short walk to the building.
