Student and disability support has been nothing short of amazing, all my needs and accomodations have been met on time and the disability team are very responsive. The societies have been amazing and I feel so included - the campus atmosphere is buzzing and there's always something fun and interesting going on! Campus feel would be 5 stars but loses 1 star due to the unis problem with overcrowding - there are too many students on campus. This makes it difficult to find a study space on campus even outside exam season due to the sheer number of students. The university built the JMS learning hub to try and tackle this problem but it's not enough and that building is constantly overcrowded. The number of students on campus needs to be urgently restricted.

Very happy with the teaching here. Teaching is high quality, challenging but pushes your limits and feedback from lecturers is good. I can see now why Glasgow uni has the reputation it has with employers. I definitely learned a lot more and at deeper level in year 2 here than I did in my HND at a different institution. The labs were done really well, I liked how they were linked in year 2 so you can consolidate your learning over multiple weeks, it's more like real life lab work that way too. They seem to have a good careers advice service though I've not used it yet. As far as I know you have to compete for internships and placements just like at most universities (Strathclyde and GCU also have to compete for internships even if "included" in the degree title, I've learned from pals who've gone there, it's no guarantee.)

Glasgow gets an unjust rep for crime - that was the case in the 80s but no longer, especially in the west end where Glasgow Uni is. Any trouble is generally drug related, stay out of drugs and use common sense and you'll be absolutely fine. Glasgow is a vibrant city with lots of fantastic restaurants, bars, galleries. The university even has it's own university run nightclub in case you don't want to trek into town from the west end! Glasgow uni is in the citys west end, a fantastic place for cafes, restaurants, vintage clothing and charity shops, and of course has Kelvingrove park and the Botanic gardens! I love to walk through the parks with a coffee and pastry when I'm not in lectures. Public transport is superb, there's Glasgow's own subway for fast access to the city centre, regular buses that go on campus that are significantly cheaper than buses in Edinburgh and outside Glasgow. Glasgow has the best connected rail network in the UK after London. Diversity on campus is great, I see many people from all over the world here, certainly in science there's lots of Indian and Chinese people in my lectures. Cost of living used to be great but like many places in the UK it has gone up a lot. Start your search for accomodation early in Glasgow because demand for the west end particularly near the uni is very high and moves quickly. Rents can easily be £800 for a room if you don't secure a cheaper place. That said, cost of living is still significantly cheaper than many places in England.
