Overall, my time at university has been really good. I have made some lifelong friends and felt very supported along the way. I have felt comfortable reaching out when I have felt that I could do with some support. The teaching has been exceptional, especially the on site clinical teaching and I have always felt able to seek help if I do not understand a concept or need additional support with my studies. Adaptations in the COVID era have been very good, with lots of online seminars and lecturers happening as well as revision sessions from student societies. Contact with the Guild is very easy with lots of drop in sessions happening with support always on hand.

Facilities are very accessible and user friendly. There are two libraries on campus, both have an excellent range of facilities and staff on hand to help. Laptops can be hired from the libraries as well as any chargers that you may have forgotten to bring with you. The spaces are cleaned regularly and there are wipes and sanitisation stations are regular intervals across these two libraries. The gym is priced at a very reasonable rate, particularly if you join at the start of the year. Again there are plenty of classes and sessions happening at all times to join at your convenience and there is a lot of new equipment in the gyms that you can use so you do not have to wait. Staff are very helpful and the gym is very clean. The staff ensure that equipment is wiped down after each use.

The support is exceptional, there are plenty of people you can go to if you are struggling or would like someone to speak to. These include the staff at the Guild, your course director or any personal tutors. Appointments can be arranged at short notice with your tutors and course staff and online or in person with the Guild. The disability support team are very helpful and efficient. Meetings are usually set up when you first start at university in which they gauge how much support you need and what resources and support they can provide, be that adaptations on your course, support with lecture notes or additional support in exams. Mental health support can be accessed through the dedicated team at the university, however this can take up to a few months to get an appointment with the team at times.

Really good range of teaching methods, from anatomy prosecutions to small group seminars and ward based teaching. Weekly clinical skills sessions are very useful to consolidate knowledge and to complement teaching on placements. Tutors and lecturers are always on hand to answer any queries or issues you may have. Lectures range from around 4-5 hours a day to more practical based sessions in a clinical environment almost daily in later years.

There is a careers studio with lots of careers coaches who are usually students as well as senior staff. The facilities are really good and they offer a range of opportunities and sessions to develop and strengthen your CV. Sessions include going through your CV with suggestions for improvements if necessary, the set up of mock interviews in your desired field to prepare you for this as well as help to find jobs in your area of interest and how to go about seeking these opportunities. There is always someone in the careers studio to help you and appointments can be made at your convenience as well as remote during COVID.
