I am incredibly lucky to be studying in a campus which is so luscious and green. I think one of the main points I looked at when choosing this uni was nature!! I don’t want to be surrounded by concrete buildings so this is a plus point Surrey has to offer. Further, the teaching is top notch. I have lecturers who besides teaching are researchers and so the lectures aren’t just “text book material”, they really do link their own research to the subject material which makes it more interesting. The university also has the cutest town nearby where you can shop and eat. All in all, I am so glad I chose such a welcoming uni and I got really lucky!

We had lectures Mondays to Thursdays, and tutorials on Fridays in semester 1, which was really good as it consolidates your learning and you can go over concepts you didn’t understand that well. Further, there are also specific time allocations for contact with lecturers which is also useful. As I am studying biological sciences, we also have labs in which we perform experiments relating to the lectures we had which further helps solidify our skills and knowledge.

I share halls with 7 other girls. Initially, it was a difficult transition but the accommodation team really helped ease us into living in halls with the welcome seminar in semester 1. Further if we have any complaints about for example, stove not working, the maintenance team comes quite quickly. Manor Park is a beautiful place all in all with a large Tesco nearby too which is useful.
