the campus is really beautiful, there are lots of lovely places to walk as well as really good sports facilities.

my course is taught fully in class for about 10 hours per week + independent study activities. the lecturers are fantastic and i feel so supported.

uni halls are a great place to meet new friends and be social. it can be a little loud sometimes at night, but it is manageable and never too much of a problem. its not a 'flat' type layout, but its corridors of rooms and then every 5 doors is a kitchen, with 5 rooms allocated to it.

I travel into university everyday and take a train and a bus because of the location, however the campus is really nice and I love all the trees. seeing the wildlife between classes make you feel not as couped up at school as high school felt. Generally everyone at university is friendly and most people tend to mind there own business, you can meet people in lots of different ways - through your classes - societies - student union - sports unions - and more. When you arrive so does everyone else and everyone is looking to make friends and study buddies. I like to take advantage of Heriot-Watt's 24h Library in the mornings when it is quite to get my work started. The worst part about university is standing outside in the cold at bus stops and train stations but only because I commute from home but with some good music everything is fine. University is definitely a big change from high school but it is a new experience and one that will make memories for a life-time.

My course is taught on campus with electives in 1st year and work placements in 3rd year. So far my course has been great and meeting the people on my course is nice. My language skill have improved and I have learn valuable skill in the more boring typically boring areas such as essay planning, writing and referencing. These have helped me in my other areas of study and submitting course work. I really enjoy my class on Deaf Studies once a week and look forward to al my British Sign Language classes. The worst part has to the crunch at the end of semester when you have exams and papers due, but if you plan ahead it should be plain sailing.
