Art facilities are great and classrooms are comfortable. most staff are very good but a lot of my classes have been poorly planned and organised. having to pay for expensive software on top of tuition is also depressing.

my course is very different to how it was presented to me during my foundation in art. There is a lot more focus on 3D animation than 2d especially in first year. I have always had 0 interest in 3D but as there are no other animation courses in NI I had no choice. Contact with lecturers often feels rushed as they have so many people to spread their attention across. Some lecturers repeat portions of content already covered in previous modules.

I really liked my room as it had a lot of storage and a great view (though now obstructed by a new accommodation building) it was clean and easy to keep clean while I was there. The communal spaces where good too although the laundry service was extortionate. The one thing I really hated about living there was the lack of ventilation. Although the aircon units were in perfect condition. Having no openable windows meant the same air was being cycled around. I was at the top floor and my roommate never emptied bins on her turns. This meant every time I went home to my family for the weekend, I came home to an apartment with a food bin full of mould. Obviously its not the buildings fault I had a gross roommate but there are always going to be gross people, (especially in student halls where middle class kids who have never had to do basic chores before are living). having sealed windows is a recipe for sick building syndrome.
