I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Loughborough so far, the facilities are great both for campus and for arts specifically, with helpful technicians and kind art tutors and lecturers. there is so much freedom to create and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. The town may seem a bit sh!t at first but youll grow to love it, especially the pubs. People are freindly, especially in art- thats where the coolest people are ;) Loughborough is so safe whether on campus or in town. The student union is a great and easy night out, but Nottingham or Leicester are right around the corner if you wanted something a bit more full on. My accomodation experiences have felt like home, both intown (Donkeydigs represent!!!) and in halls (Butler Court, highly rfeccomment for proximity to art and room size but dont go deluxe because its just two single beds put together and E block stands for Ewwww block, A block is slAy block #butlerlove #upthebut). My flatmates in first year are still my flatmates now and will be my lifelong friends forever. I can genuinely and honestly say that my life at loughborough and the increased social life and creative/academic structure combined with freedom and safety- I am the happiest i have ever been.

The best thing is the people who run it, they genuinely care and are such kind people. the facilities are second to none and theres hardly any limitations in what you can do. My studio space has become my second home and I love that we can customise them with no boundaries at all. Unlike textiles, the art course encourages you to push yourself and go big, go further, be ambitious. This doesnt mean, however, that there is lack of respect for smaller works. it must be noted that since art is subjective, the tutors do not always agree or give the same evaluation or advise- but if your work is clear in message it is generally recieved in the same way. it depends what your going for and who your audience is, and they will acknowledge that.

The best aspects of Loughborough Uni are the facilities, there is so much on offer here and always people to support you along the way.

There is a great studio space on my course for students to get on with there work however there isn’t much contact time with students or timetables sessions, resulting in students feeling a bit lost
