Newcastle is an ideal place to study. There are plenty of things to do in the city, no matter what your interests are, you are still close to the beach and Northumberland national park is easily accessible. My student experience could be improved by lowering the prices of the student societies, clubs and gym. I think it its unfair that as students who pay for university, we are expected to pay extra for these benefits, when they are branded as being part of the university experience and one of the main reasons why students are attracted to university life.

There is a good combination of independent study and in-class teaching which makes the overall course hours appropriate. Career prospects for Environmental Science are great due to the climate crisis and overall relevancy of the degree. Some lecturers are clearly more interested in teaching and invested in the students than others. Although the facilities at Newcastle are great, throughout the degree we have not had many chances to utilise them - only in 3rd year did we begin to take part in any real lab work despite the course being scientific.

Not enough tutor contact time, I pay a lot of money to do a masters for very little contact hours, which doesn't seem fair
