The University of Portsmouth is such an amazing place to study, with lecturers and teachers who provide a great learning experience when teaching. Furthermore, most of the lecturers will email you back promptly and on time however there has been a couple of situations when reply’s are late or I have received no reply at all. Furthermore , if you do not drink there is not that many places around to hangout with friends as most places are clubs and pubs.

Throughout all 3 years at The University of Portsmouth, I have experienced many different learning styles. For my first year covid-19 hit and everything was online, considering that online lecturers can be hard because you cannot interact with your peers and lecturers as well as you can in person, the lecturers used breakout room to help us communicate with our peers. My second year was a mixture of both online and offline, my lectures would be online and my seminars in person, I enjoyed this way of teaching as I could watch the lecture over and over again and fully grasp the understanding of a subject before I go to the seminar. Finally, my third year is in person, I do like going to seminars in person to discuss topics with my lectures and peers and also to further my understanding of the topics, however I don’t see the point for going in for lectures as I’m sat in the class listening and reading off a PowerPoint when I can do that in my spare time and actually focus on the work.

The only thing good about Greetham Street accommodations is that it is in the perfect location for a university student. The wifi is not that great, it’s slow and sometimes doesn’t work properly. The showers have bad water pressure and are really small. The only good thing about the place is the common room but it was closed because of covid when I stayed there.

Overall, my experience has been good so far if I am not taken into consideration the pandemic year of online learning. The university and teachers do their maximum to support us during this turbulence time, however, the cost should be cut down.
