I love my course, the people, the uni itself, but the city life is very dull and boring, hardly anything goes on during the day and night time unless there were some events going on during the night. However, if you look at it from a different perspective you would be relieved because the fact that it is quiet and filled with elderly people makes it look like Canterbury is a town made for students and very lively and safe. Another thing that is really annoying is when you do happen to go out at night times, the taxi drivers get really expensive with their prices forgetting we only students and that really isn't fair.

The University of Kent is located in one of the most beautiful parts of England. It is huge campus, full of greenery. As an international student, hospitality and study ambience were most important for me. I love how well maintained the University is, the staff has always been friendly and helpful. We get to use the facilities of Templeman Library which houses about 80,000 books and has a very functional ecosystem and the best thing is, it is open 24*7. My department is one of the most beautiful and cozy departments. My departmental academics are super nice, extremely hardworking and involved in various important projects which gives us the opportunity to get involved with different academic events, making my scholarly journey interesting and fruitful. The ability to improve oneself is one of the bedrocks of civilization. I believe, the University of Kent with its strong devotion to academics, can improve further by engaging in housing more international conferences and lending a more generous hand to international students to partake in academics by increasing the number of fully funded scholarships.

As a PhD student, I am totally satisfied with the quality of academic scholarship in the English department. The classes I attend for auditing are interesting and encourages student involvement which is essential for moulding students into better versions of themselves. I am also proud of the fact that our courses can be very hybrid, making learning accessible and fun. I usually have one formal meeting with my supervisor, while informally I can contact her whenever there I face any difficulty. All the departmental staff are approachable and helpful.
