Going to Queen Mary has definitely changed ,y idea of what universities are meant to be like. I thought university would be boring and no one would help you. But at Queen Mary everyone is offering you a hand and everyone is talking and enjoying themselves.

Despite covid, I’m extremely happy with my quality of teaching - my main concern for my university experience! My department adapted very well to online teaching, and also encouraged collaboration/interaction via writing retreats and group calls. I’d highly recommend Queen Mary for their English course, as there are so many module choices to choose from. I also had the option of choosing a module from an appropriate alternative department.

There’s plenty of study space within teaching facilities and in the library. I also work in the SU cafés sometimes. Lots of outdoor space with wifi access and close to printers too!

I have not required personal support, but it is very clear how one would access these services should they need them.

I had a good amount of contact hours, with enough time to conduct pre-reading and further research, as well as take part in extracurricular activity and meet with friends. All my lecturers adapted to online teaching incredibly well.

My department is fantastic at sending round news and updates for grad schemes, entry level jobs etc. I have used our career services and they were incredibly useful at helping me improve my job prospects and CV.
