The overall experience this academic year has been very broken because of Covid but on the whole it’s been good. The lack of social has made me get on with uni for my final year and study more, the staff have gone the extra mile with online help which is great considering we couldn’t have actual seminars/lectures. Overall not too bad!

Library is brilliant, even in Covid and the booking system works well, the online availability for literature is great but they are slow to process if you’d like physical books and it’s kept very clean

Constant emails and updates surrounding mental health, finance support etc from the uni. I used the employability services and they were great and really friendly

Good quality teaching and the staff generally are quick to respond with help if asked

The employability department were great with helping produce CV’s / cover letters and helped with structuring and how to come across professional. This was great when trying to find placement

Sheffield is an excellent student city, the university buildings are all right in the city centre so they’re never too far away. There’s a good choice of accomplishment options and are very affordable. If you play sports there’s loads to get involved in with high quality facilities and competitions. However not much runs through the student union, there isn’t a bar there where students can meet and socialise and I never actually see people there other than occasionally playing table football

I like the blended learning with seminars in person and lectures online but it means I hardly ever see my tutors. You need to be motivated to do a little bit of work at home but even if you don’t can can kind of coast through first year given how little content there is

Lots to do, loads of great bars to hang out and a very low cost of living

Very good value considering what you get, perfect location, big bed, all en-suite rooms, decent facilities and well maintained
