Leeds Beckett is a friendly welcoming place, especially for a mature (old) student like myself. The campus is well signposted and staff and other students are always happy to help if you find yourself lost. The student union has something for everyone and is worth a look around. City campus is easily accessible with plenty of parking spaces. All in all a nice place to study.

My course is taught both online and on campus, this is an excellent mix, with the right amount of hours teaching on/off campus. All the lecturers are available for at least 1 hour per week and are all accessible via email and do come back to you within a day or so. The lecturers are all knowledgably and approachable and it feels like they are wanting you to succeed.

The university is in the heart of Leeds City centre with a massive choice for shopping, dining or socialising. There are plenty of choice of bars and restaurants so something for everyone. There are at least 2 major supermarkets nearby and a specialist Asian supermarket 5 minute walk away. I maybe biased but Yorkshire people are by far the friendliest.

Easily accessible in terms of campus layout so lessens stress when going from class to class. The course is very diverse and interesting whilst challenging with new ideas and previous concepts and theories. Things to be improved could be the the decrease in one to one help and focus whilst going the process of writing a dissertation.

My course for the majority was online with the last year being my first full year in person. This has bettered my learning and motivation to learn. There is a lot of career fairs however the possibilities for internships and employment specifically course-related could be pushed further in terms of one to one sessions with career advisors.

The cost of living has increased dramatically for me with regards to rent as my student loan has never been anywhere near enough to afford it leaving me needing to consistently work part time or as many hours needed to live. I struggled first year to get a job however have been fortunate enough to be successful ever since. The night life and city life is always very lively and always something going on meaning you are far from being ever bored.

The plaza had everything from study spaces to gym rooms so would be rated highly on creativity and amenities. Unfortunately was being worked on during my period of time there so was very conscious of the noise and early morning wake ups not only from parties but builders.
