Great support and staff and students are nice

In class lectures, very helpful however lecturers can speak quite fast

The support you get from lecturers and staff is unmatched, there’s a lot available and course content when looked at in comparison to other universities is much more interesting. The student union, as do most, tends to be more about events, nights out and tickets to clubs more than student support but that is less of an interest to me personally, others may enjoy going out. Being central to the city is rather convenient and helps in regards to travel and navigation, there’s bus routes and it’s in walking distance to most things. Overall, it’s a great university that cares about its students, as it should.

There’s a lot of interactivity and lab sessions to apply the academic side to the practical side. The lecturers are supportive and are completely dedicated to helping you succeed, which is what you would like.

York is generally expensive, most shops aren’t in ideal locations so it may cost to traverse or have shopping delivered but in the case of being in a position where you can’t buy food, york St John university has a larder available to its students where they can get food, much like a food bank set up. The city itself is nice, there’s a lot of students and a lot of tourists but it’s to be expected because it’s a historical landmark. There are part time job opportunities in almost every establishment.

It’s close enough to central York, there are bus routes for those who are less able to walk. It’s quiet generally and from my personal experience, people tend to be much more respectful around there as it’s residential.
