The campus is close to the city centre, but not so close that its overwhelming and the main campus is beautiful. Super convenient and right next to a couple of tescos. Furthermore, the people around are very welcoming and friendly. Where I once used to be anxious and shy, I now find myself far more confident in talking to people when I need help. All in all, I'm happy to have chosen DMU!

The course is very fun and super engaging, as the teachers are friendly and the lessons are great for widespread learning about the industry. Most of the facilities are great to use, though its a little annoying when you realise that you don't actually get a licence for their 2d animation software. Other than that though, the access is very good. The course often has meetings and lectures from industry professionals as well. Some of these professionals being permanent tutors or guest speakers from all over. For example, a Director and animator from Disney came to the university to talk about his work on animated shows, which allowed for insight in what to expect from our careers and ask our burning questions about animation in general. The creative freedom is refreshing and I have never been bored by this course! Big thanks to my tutors for being awesome!

Very nice and well looked after accommodation thats spacious and cheap. Not only is the interior really nice, but typically unsettling things, like sharing a bathroom, is actually pretty good in this accommodation. Their are cleaners who sort out the hallways, showers and toilets for us, which is particularly relieving. I only really have a problem with the washing machines, as there are only a few for such large halls and Furthermore, they provide a lot of cleaning supplies so we don't have to, consisting of a hoover, mop, iron, brush, dustpan and hand brush. Along with this they also supply a kettle and toaster, which is very useful. The rooms have plenty of storage space and the beds are big. There's still plenty of room for movement and the shelf space is rather large too. The only problem I really have with the storage space is the limited drawer space in the wardrobe. Other than that, it's perfect. Another minor issue is certain limitations. Having overnight guests is against the rules, which is a bit problematic if I have a friend over. Its a slight inconvenience but if their was more leniency with this rule, I would've thought this hall to be practically perfect. This hall is great, both for its appealing interior, cheap price and facilities/staff. I feel safe in this hall always.

I like the campus and the facilities. The look of it is quite modern and I like that it is all packed in one place rather than spread around town. Leicester is a nice town to live in, but it is not very big, so there isn't as many events as there may be in different locations. DMU is in the centre of Leicester which makes it easy to go to town after uni and this definitely makes the student experience better. I really like the university library, it is big and modern and students have access to many different programs and softwares. I also like that it is 24/7 so I can go there even very late at night. I wish other facilities (faculty buildings) were open on the weekends, it would definitely help me to get my work done.

My course is generally really fun. We are learning a lot of new content and it is quite enjoyable. I am not that familiar with the placement opportunities yet, but even though I am in my first year, I already had a chance to work on a funded research project. I really like that we have Wacom Cintiqs in every classroom and double screens at all stations in our studios, but I wish we had more space for doing things like motion capture. The classroom layouts are quite odd but it is something to get used to.

There is a lot of diversity in Leicester. It is not an expensive town to live in. Costs of things are not high at all. For me personally, there might not be many graduate job opportunities, but I know there is a bunch of part time work opportunities. I don't use public transport therefore I don't really know about it, but getting from Leicester to London or to other big cities is not difficult.

Generally the accommodation was quite good. The wifi was very fast and the room was nice, but for the price I was paying I wish my shower and bed were a tiny bit bigger. I didn't like that my room had a window just over the smoking area because everytime I opened the window, I would get the smell of smoke in my room. I liked the kitchen and the living area, but it lacked an actual table. The room's furniture was nice - it was solid and quite modern.
