What does an estate agent or auctioneer do?

Working in this field will likely see you based at an estate agency, either specialising in commercial or residential properties, businesses or land. An auctioneer performs a lot of their business at an auction house, which can be a physical location or online platform. Your services will be needed by clients who have property they want to sell or rent out.

Your main responsibility will be to sell or rent your clients’ properties at the best possible price. You’ll be involved with valuing and promoting the property, as well as negotiating the sale or rental agreement. You’ll likely make a lot of contacts during a career as an estate agent or auctioneer and can earn good money in this field.
