Brunel University is a great place to study. There is a lot of student diversity and a place to find a great social circle, if you know where to look. I have loved the style of teaching and the toleration from academic stuff, however, I think it would make life simpler if the lecture halls were not moved weekly. I got confused and walked into different classes before finding my footing in the school

It is great that the lecturers have time to explain and also engage the students. The course requires a lot but it is good that we have the resources needed to rise to the occasion

Brunel is one of the best universities in student support. \being an international student, I imagined it would take me some time to settle into this home away from home. However, during my initial week at Brunel, I quickly learned there is immense diversity and inclusivity that it has to offer to students like me. If I had to describe Brunel in one word, I would say it is 'welcoming'. No matter where you are from or what your interests are, you are welcome here and you will be heard. Being so close to central London, the campus is still secluded and away from the hocus pocus of the city which in my opinion is the best attribute. There are amazing places on campus to cool off alone, have a friendly chat or even grab a bite on the days cooking feels like too much work. An important point I feel worth mentioning is that the campus proudly displays the success stories of several alumni all around. I remember being a fresher on my way to my first class, not knowing what to expect; but, I knew I wanted my picture to be up there some day. In my opinion, Brunel is one of the leading universities not only in the quality of education they provide, but also in terms of how they treat and value their students; past present and future. I have created some of the best memories of my life here and made some valuable friendships and professional connections too. To anyone who would ask for advice, I strongly recommend coming to Brunel University London. It will definitely change your life for the better.

I am studying a masters in International Commercial Law at Brunel. Our course is divided into two terms, four modules each with one compulsory module each term. Depending on the elective modules, classes are either three or four days a week. The course is fully taught using presentations, seminars and reflective reading. Lectures are usually two hours wherein a particular topic is covered which is conveyed to us before hand via email. These topics and the whole lesson plan was also made available during the induction week and is accessible at all times via Brightspace. Our lecturers urge that we come prepared to the sessions so lectures can be more interactive intuitive. The lecturers are kind and helpful at all times during and after the lectures. We can also reach them via email and there are prompt replies every time. The flow of the topics and classes is pre decided so, it is easy for the students to know what to expect. I have been to eight weeks of classes so far and I can distinctly remember each class and the brief discussions held. I believe this is evidence enough of how effective and influential the lecturers are. Being from a non law background, I was worried about lagging behind in my coursework or finding a placement in the legal field. But, every module convener made it a point to help me whenever I got suck. Also, the professional development center has been a source of great support and motivation. All I had to do was ask. Another concern I had before starting classes as an international student was whether I will be able to comprehend the accents. All the worrying was baseless as the lecturers, although from different parts of the world, make it a point that each student can hear and understand them clearly. Overall, I am fully satisfied with the way my course is going and I believe that it is worth every penny.

I have been here for over a month now and I feel part time work is difficult to find. It might just be an effect of the oncoming recession but part time work for longer periods is not an easy find at all. I have been able to find a few short term (one to two weeks) part time jobs but they are not enough to sustain the cost of living here. I have started broadening my spectrum now and am looking for work outside Uxbridge. The only dilemma I am facing there is the travel cost and time it will take me to get to and back from work. Apart from the part time job situation, Uxbridge is a great place to live. It is safe and within an hours reach to central London which makes it close enough to get to the good parties and celebrations but also a little detached from the buzz and traffic of the city. The town is diverse and the cost of living is lower when compared to central London. All huge brands and supermarkets have a store in Uxbridge so you won't miss out on anything new. Conclusively, it is a nice city to make your home away from home if you like the calm environment but also want the city buzz to be accessible.

I booked the university accommodation as being an international student, my family was reluctant to let me stay off campus. However, I am eternally thankful to them as I could not have found a better place that my current home away from home. There are ten en-suite rooms in our flat, all of which are occupied by people from around the globe. It is like we are a family that destiny chose for us. We have fun sharing cultural anecdotes, have game nights, pizza nights, movie nights and share our mothers' recipes with each other. A good neighbour is a blessing and I believe I should be grateful that I have not one or two but nine of them.
