M y course has been extremely engaging and informative. Throughout this time University has given me lots of opportunities to succeed.

Overall the halls were good however unfortunately I did not have a great experience with the other students in the flat.

Bishop Grosseteste University is set on a beautiful campus with plenty of lovely green spaces to feel connected with nature during your studies. Lecturers make a real effort to support and understand the students, encouraging us to use these calming green spaces during our comfort breaks from sessions. The sessions are informative and engaging, a foundational base of theory and practise to ensure all Primary Education students are beyond adequately prepared for the teaching placements. Our Vice President of the SU is always available to have a chat about your course, another avenue to access support than contacting lecturers and session providers. Whilst pastoral support is exceptional, it must be understood that some of the facilities onsite are becoming quite dated. The buildings may be old but they are historic; deep-seated in the rich past of the university (originally established in 1862). That being said, best efforts are in place to improve these facilities where ever possible. There is a modern library with resources second to none for any studies leading into the education sector and the technology/IT on campus is brilliant. I have often used the 24 hour study suite to work. Bishop Grosseteste University is fantastic, I am loving my time here. If you wanted a university to have a homely and comforting feel, this is the place to be!

The access to personal tutors is fantastic, I love that there is that point of contact for any queries I may have surrounding my education at BGU. Whilst there may not be a lot of contact time, they are always available to communicate through the Outlook emails or Microsoft Teams; and when necessary, they would arrange for face to face contact for more personal and delicate issues. At every level of the course, support is provided to ensure that all pupils develop personally and professionally. Since the session providers and lecturers were mostly all teachers themselves, they offer a valuable insight into the education sector. They are all passionate about education and care about the next generation of those responsible for the uptake (us, the students); so they are passionate in our sessions and want us to be successful in our teaching practises.

Wickham Hall has been a great experience for me because I have loved the independence. With it being onsite, it is the ideal place to stay frankly. The university have the Accommodation Team, who are ready to help with any maintenance or personal issues relating to halls. You are able to receive any parcels to your new halls address; this has been great for me to order costumes for Societies' Social Nights. I have made friends for life in my flat and have just signed up to live with them again next year!
