BA (Hons) Music Production & Songwriting degree is designed for aspiring songwriters, producers and composers who want to shape their musical identity, refine their craft and build a career in the music industry. This programme provides you with the all the skills, confidence and industry insights you will need to find success.
Throughout the programme, you’ll learn the core principles of songwriting, from lyrical and melodic composition to creating arrangements that captivate listeners. As you progress, you’ll develop advanced techniques in stylistic composition, vocal production and collaborative songwriting as well as working on briefs that mirror real-world industry demands. You’ll gain hands-on experience in music production, learning how to create, produce and market your music to a professional standard.
Based in the vibrant Shoreditch area of London - a global hub for music and creativity - you’ll have access to our state-of-the-art studios equipped with industry-standard technology, including professional microphones, mixing consoles, and DAWs. Classes are intentionally kept small, ensuring you receive personalised support and guidance from lecturers who bring extensive experience from the music industry (Pharrell Williams, Beyonce, Gwen Stefani and Rihanna to name a few).
To enrich your learning, you will have access to video tutorials and interactive exercises. Regular guest masterclasses with industry professionals, workshops, open mic nights and performance events offer invaluable networking opportunities and insights into the realities of a career in music. pointblank also runs its own record label which you can submit tracks to.
Upon graduation, you’ll have a professional portfolio showcasing your work as a songwriter and producer, ensuring you are fully prepared to take on roles such as songwriter, music producer, vocal producer, composer for film and TV, or music entrepreneur. With a thorough understanding of the creative music industry, you’ll be well-equipped to make your mark and take on the world!
