About this courseWe believe design can give form, identity, and meaning to a rapidly changing world. As an interior designer, you’ll be able to create ambitious spaces that exploit opportunities and respond to the challenges we face today. This course will prepare you for the demands of contemporary design practice. You’ll be taught by thinkers and makers, designers, architects, artists, engineers and material experts. You’ll learn how to interrogate a problem, playfully speculate solutions, tell stories, create desires and bring designs to an innovative material and spatial resolution. You’ll ask questions about the future and answer with temporary pop-ups or the long-term transformation of redundant buildings. Past student projects have included a floating community space, new retail experiences, and the inventive reuse of neglected buildings.
