BA (Hons) Fashion Jewellery will explore new technologies as well as traditional craft methods and materials. This course encourages you to cultivate a unique personal vision to design contemporary fashion jewellery. You will use critical design thinking, sustainable technologies with traditional and digital craft skills to define the future of jewellery.


What can you expect?

BA (Hons) Fashion Jewellery will equip you to become professionally involved, self-reliant and reflective. Projects provide opportunities for you to collaborate with students from other fashion disciplines. This will nurture teamwork and Personal and Professional Development skills. You will develop ethical, social, technological and environmental awareness. Student on this course will build professional, communication and entrepreneurial skills. This will help them to succeed as a fashion jewellery designer / maker in today’s global fashion industries.The course is enhanced by lectures from industry practitioners. Recent guest speakers have included Melanie Georgacopoulos, Marloes ten Bhomer, Una Burke, Naomi Filmer and Mawi Keivom. You will have the opportunity to undertake a short work placement in the industry. This gives you experience of working in a company and the chance to make contacts in the industry before you complete your studies. At the end of the course you will be able to make an innovative contribution as a fashion jewellery designer to the fashion jewellery industry.This course draws on a broad range of specialist facilities at our Golden Lane and Mare Street sites. There are specialist rooms for casting and mould making using resins, plaster, wax and metal. Students will use computer aided design software such as Rhino, Flamingo and Adobe Illustrator and their prototypes will be realised using laser cutting and a CNC routing tools.London College of Fashion (LCF) undergraduate courses develop your personal and professional skills. On this course you will develop skills in your discipline until you are an independent creative thinker. Your skills will make you capable of making an effective contribution to this sector of the fashion industry. We embed Personal and Professional Development (PPD) skills in all units on every course. Speaker programmes with contributions from alumni and members of industry are a part of many courses. We encourage graduates who wish to continue their education at postgraduate level to progress to suitable courses within the College, the University or elsewhere.Many graduates prefer to seek employment as soon as they have completed their undergraduate studies. Graduates from this course have worked at ASOS, WGSN, Tatty Devine and Alexander McQueen.This course is based at Mare Street in Hackney, east London. East London has been dubbed the centre of British fashion. It’s where the old meets the new, where the night comes to life, where you can eat almost anything you like and find some of the capital’s best shops. LCF Mare Street site is now renowned for housing our jewellery, MA Fashion Futures and tailoring courses, alongside LCF’s Centre for Fashion Enterprise.
