Business Computing - BSc (Hons)

Bristol, UWE

I study Business Computing BSc at University of the West of England and my experience has been very positive so far. The lecturers are friendly, supportive, and always willing to help students when needed. The campus facilities are good and there are plenty of places to study and work on assignments. Student life is enjoyable and the university has a welcoming atmosphere. Overall, I would recommend this university to future students

You can really experience the full university life here, and most of the lectures are engaging and interesting. The campus environment is welcoming and there are lots of opportunities to get involved. One thing that could be improved is the elevators in the Q building, as they can sometimes be inconvenient or slow during busy times.

The best aspect of my university experience has been lectures are really friendly and supportive and the friendly atmosphere on campus. One thing that could be improved is communication between departments and students, especially regarding schedules and updates. And one of my favourite things is that students have access to computers and the library 24 hours, so it's easy to study whenever needed.

ne of the best aspects of studying at University of the West of England is the supportive learning environment and the practical approach to teaching. Many modules focus on real-world skills, which helps students prepare for future careers. The lecturers are generally approachable and willing to help when students need support. I also enjoy the diverse and inclusive student community, which makes it easy to meet people from different backgrounds and cultures. One area that could be improved is communication and organization in some modules, particularly around assignment instructions or schedule updates. Sometimes clearer guidance or earlier announcements would help students manage their workload more effectively. Increasing opportunities for hands-on projects, workshops, and industry connections could also further enhance the learning experience. Overall, University of the West of England is a great place to study because it provides a welcoming environment and opportunities to develop both academically and personally. Continuing to strengthen communication and practical learning opportunities would make the student experience even better.

As an international student, I’ve found the environment here very welcoming. The Students' Union is exceptional; they are always active and provide great support for meeting new people. Studying Business Computing at the Frenchay campus has been a highlight; the facilities are modern, and the course content feels relevant to my career goals. I also appreciate how easy it is to live near campus, which makes traveling a lot easier. While student life is generally great, the financial transition for international students can be quite challenging. Navigating tuition fee payment plans and the high cost of living in Bristol is stressful. I would love to see more tailored financial guidance or more flexible payment options for international students. Additionally, while there are many part-time job opportunities in Bristol, more direct support from the university in securing local retail or hospitality roles would be a huge help.
