Best Aspects: Support from careers team, approachable staff and teachers Worst Aspects: location, 1 hour seminars for people who commute

My experience at Sheffield Hallam has been really good overall. The staff are friendly and supportive, and the facilities are great — especially the libraries and study areas. I like how the university focuses on practical learning and helping students get ready for work. There’s also a really welcoming and diverse community, which makes it a nice place to study and live. The only things I’d say could improve are the organisation of timetables and placement communication, which can sometimes be last minute. It would also help to have more space to study during exams and career support sessions that are more specific to each course.

More for students that are slightly older- societies for courses . Would like a course ball or a conjoined course ball at end of Christmas or summer.

Coming from a different country has been a huge challenge for me. Before I come here, I had an anxiety on whether I would be welcomed or not. However, those anxious feeling was merely a fear. I was glad that I had the opportunity to experience studying and living in a friendly country. The university also give me a reassured feelings when I arrived here. I was able to meet people from different backgrounds and learn to improve my socializing skills as well as confidence. I have tried many things that I wouldn't have thought I would do. The joy of living and studying abroad really do change you and put you outside of your comfort zone. It doesn't feel like you're excluded nor unwelcome because the university will immediately support you.
