Doing mechanical engineering it is hard to access high spec computers

I think there is a perfect amount of theory and practical sessions

All the staff around campus have been so supportive and helpful finding places, getting info about things here and there. If one of them doesn't know they will show/tell you where to go to find out. There are many supportive institutes withing the campus that aren't heard about as much as they should be. We found out about one as they came in to ask us to review the class and mentioned the department they were from and when 99% of the class hadn't heard of them they went on to explain what they do. I do however wish there were more student meet -ups during freshers that were for parents. Having a daughter made it difficult to join in with most of the events on and could have been better meeting other parents doing other courses too. It's already hard being a mature student it would have been better had I found parents to chat with too.

So far the course content has been interesting, but there's a lack of spark to the lectures that keeps it in my head. There's so little information given about each part of the lecture because they're trying to cream so much information in as little as time they can that I feel disconnected from the things they talk about. For instance we went over 3d printing and there are so many different machines doing different forms of printing yet I corker tell you of the top of my head any of the names. This lectures was about 2 weeks before Christmas. One of my tutors is amazing, he doesn't have the most fun subject to teach but he teaches it in a way that makes it more interesting I actually look forward to his lectures. The other two tutors i have I struggle with, one because he doesn't give us much time to calculate the calculations before giving us the answer or changing the slide so it makes it difficult to keep up with him. The other tutor knows what he's taking about clearly, but he drolls on about it in such a way it doesn't sound interesting making keeping the information stored difficult. He's done a couple of "practical" sessions that he did in class that were pretty cool, but would have been more fun/interesting for us to do it ourselves too. Overall its a different experience, I'm learning but also feel overwhelmed and feel like I have no idea what I have learnt which makes me feel like I haven't learnt anything
