I think the university is great, the facilities, quality of education, etc. however something I have been othered about is QUB’s lack of attention to international student representation and support. Yes we have a student support society, yes we international student support, however these services are superficial in that they only deal with contemporary issues. The university is considerably behind in supporting international events such as Ramadan for Muslims and Arabs, Diwali and Holi for the Indian culture, or anything that has to do with non-Irish culture. That is something that’s been upsetting me and made me think about transferring to England, where the universities not only recognise but embrace other cultures. I also believe this is a big reason Queen’s is also lacking in its student diversity.

The university has such a great atmosphere! The location is a 15/20 minute walk into town, which is enough to give the University quarter a student feel, with the city centre nearby. There are beautiful cafes and food places aswell, ranging from Subway to Bob&Bert's, to Orto. The buildings themselves are beautiful and historic, and real attention is put into their facilities and decoration. As for the lecturers, lectures and tutorials are well distributed to give us enough time to study and work in projects. Reviews are often sent out to see if we would like an improvement on the things that matter to us. The new Queens Students Union is also high tech and comfortable, with lots of seating to study or eat, and also lots of job opportunities. The Queens Societies are also really inclusive with many different hobbies and sports etc. The Christian Union in particular has on average 300 people, and is somewhere that I feel really welcome, and meet great friends

Most of my course is in-person, which helps a lot, as I find it difficult to learn online. However, all the lecture notes and project briefs are posted on canvas, which is an easy to use learning software. The days are spread out well, to give us enough time to learn, but also enough time to work on our projects. For example, this year I have had Thursday as a studio day, where I can go into the studio and work on my assignment projects
