Our campus is in the centre of York, a historic city full of friendly people, independent businesses and exciting experiences. If you apply during Clearing, we'll support you in finding accommodation to suit your needs and budget.
We bring modern, eco-conscious buildings together with Victorian architecture and beautiful green spaces. Our Creative Centre, home to our Performance and Computer Science courses, is a unique building featuring a 157-seat theatre and dedicated spaces for students in Creative Writing and Media Production. We are also proud of the state-of-the-art facilities for our Health courses, which enhance your learning through professional-standard equipment. This year, we opened our newly refurbished Design Centre. This building is a striking home for our Design and Computer Science courses, containing specialist equipment and innovative facilities. Other specialist spaces include Primary Education classrooms, Media and Music Production studios and labs for Biomedical Science, Health Sciences and Psychology courses.

Take a look through our website and find a course you are interested in. Most of our courses will be available during Clearing, and we will update our website as soon as each course is full. Make sure to check our website for updates.
There are a few things to think about before deciding which course you want to study. For example, are there opportunities to study abroad or do a professional placement? Does the course sound engaging? If you have a career in mind, does the course help you progress towards your goals? Think about the things that are important to you. When you've found the course for you, make a note of the UCAS code and have it ready for when you speak to the university.

You can also apply for most of our courses through an online form on our website when Clearing opens.
Receive your offer
If we can accept you through Clearing we will make you a verbal offer followed up by an email with your offer in writing.
If we have places available on our Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Paramedic Science, Nursing, Midwifery, Primary Teaching or Diagnostic Radiography courses and you want to apply, you will need to have a virtual interview before we can make you an offer.
If we have places available on Art and Design courses and you want to apply through Clearing, you will be asked to submit a portfolio of your work digitally before we can make you an offer.
If we have places available on our Performance courses (including Acting and Musical Theatre) you will be required to submit a 1–2-minute virtual audition tape before we can make you an offer.
During Clearing you might receive a few offers from different universities before choosing which one to accept.
Make it official
If you want to accept our offer, add your course in UCAS as your Clearing choice. Once you have done this, we will confirm your place through UCAS.
Get ready to start
When your offer is accepted, it's time to apply for your accommodation, if you need it, and sort out your student finance. We will give you a number to call after you have been made an offer so you can speak to a dedicated support team.
You can get to know York St John University before you start by booking a campus tour. Tours take place throughout the week, including weekends, and last up to 1 hour.
