Our University

Located within walking distances of the beautiful city of York, York St John University is growing fast, with a reputation for teaching excellence and student support. Our award-winning campus is situated across 11-acres in the heart of historic York and we have invested £46 million across our campus over the last ten years, including state-of-the-art laboratories and learning spaces in addition to the 57-acre Nestle Nestlé Rowntree Park Sports Campus.

York is one of the UK’s safest cities and is ranked at the safest city in the region by the Complete University Guide. The city is also regularly ranked as one of the best places to live in the UK, and has just been voted the best place to live in the UK by the Sunday Times. With around 20,000 students and thousands millions of tourists visiting the city all year round, York is a lively place to be and has a deep and rich heritage at its heart. York is also well connected to the rest of the UK and you can be in London or Edinburgh in around two hours.

York St John University is pleased to be able to guarantee accommodation to all of our students who are joining us through Clearing in 2018. Our Lord Mayor’s Walk accommodation is situated right on our city-centre campus and is our closest accommodation site to the University.
