The rooms are located in a quiet setting suitable for talking therapies (couples, small groups and individual), coaching and hypnotherapy. They also have larger rooms that can accommodate up to 38 people for workshops and larger meetings.
All students undertaking training are placed in counselling sessions as patients whilst studying their course. This supports students through a range of issues and emotions that can crop up inside and outside of the course. Topics can include:
Clinical governance
Clinical governance is a set of procedures and policies ensuring that therapists work to best practice standards. WPF’s comprehensive system of clinical supervision supports these standards. Their policies have been developed to ensure equality of opportunity, confidentiality and privacy, as well as the safety of clients.
WPF is an organisational member of the British Association of Psychotherapy and Counselling (BACP). Students of WPF will be located just moments from Westminster, the South Bank and the London Eye, not to mention just a short distance from London’s notorious West End.
WPF provides trainee counsellors with essential practical experience by placing them within their in-house psychotherapy services, which are open to the public. Courses are validated by the University of Roehampton and lead to accreditation with BACP and registration with BPC or UKCP, depending on the training chosen.
Further understanding of patient point of view is achieved by putting all trainees into personal counselling sessions throughout their course. This allows insight into both sides of counselling operations, better preparing students for working life.
