Student life

The College’s student union is active, inclusive and supportive. It’s made up of a team of elected student officers who work hard to ensure that the student voice is listened to. All students become part of the union when they join the college. They also have the opportunity to apply to be part of the team.

The student union organises and promotes:

  • Campaigns
  • Student clubs and organisations
  • Social activities and trips
  • Sports teams and events.

It supports local charities, holds fundraisers, sends out regular newsletters and provides many ways to support student wellbeing.

Alongside their studies, students can enjoy the Wiltshire College Academy of Sport. No matter what level of ability they’re at, there is something for everyone – from team sports, individual activity and community games. Football, rugby and futsal academies provide opportunities for students to represent the college and compete in sports leagues.

Wiltshire College & University Centre has five campus locations:

  • Chippenham – the campus is close to the town centre. It’s opposite the railway station, which offers excellent transport links locally, to London and other parts of the UK
  • Salisbury – the cathedral city is 30 miles from Bournemouth and has a lively city centre among beautiful English countryside
  • Lackham – based in Lackham House (near Chippenham), a Grade II listed Georgian manor house
  • Castle Combe – the centre is close to Chippenham as well as the M4 and Bath
  • Trowbridge – the campus is located a short drive to the busy and friendly Wiltshire town of Trowbridge.
