All first-year students, whether undergraduate, postgraduate or international, are guaranteed a place in student accommodation should they want it. This will be in the university’s own halls of residence, which are modern and comfortable living spaces.
Prices for university-owned accommodation range from £95 per week to £135 per week, depending on the choice of room, which includes some single-living studio flats. Payments can be made in instalments.
As well as on-campus halls of residence at Pontypridd, there are private rental houses near to all campuses and third-party halls in Cardiff and Newport. The university’s accommodation services can also offer advice on finding accommodation to help ensure students are staying with a reputable and trustworthy accommodation provider.
Across all campuses, students will find modern facilities that enhance their learning and wellbeing. All teaching and learning facilities at USW are purpose-built and industry-standard. On campus, there’s an aircraft hangar, hospital ward, scenes of crimes house, recording studios and international-standard sports facilities, which are just a few examples. This approach helps students gain relevant skills and experience as part of their study.
Whilst COVID continues to impact society, USW has mixed online and traditional teaching methods to create active, social learning communities. However, this approach isn’t new at the university and they have successfully used blended learning on many courses for many years. This experience allowed them to adapt quickly and ensure students’ wellbeing with minimal disruption to studies.
University of South Wales students on Postgraduate Search say:
