The University of South Wales has four different campuses, each with its own unique appeal. The city-centre Cardiff campus offers students living and studying nearby access to the nightlife and entertainment that come along with city life, while the Treforest campus' history reflects the university's heritage. The Glyntaff campus offers beautiful scenery, located in the heart of the south Wales valleys, and the Newport campus offers you cutting-edge places to study, while being just 20 minutes from Cardiff city centre.
As all campuses are easily accessible from one another, many students opt to live in Cardiff city centre for proximity to the city's amenities regardless of their campus of study. As well as the regular amenities of a city, Cardiff offers you a wide range of culture, and is an entertainment capital, with media giants BBC and ITV both having headquarters in the city.
Cardiff and South Wales are well connected to the UK by trainlines offering direct services from Cardiff to London and Birmingham. The city is also served by an international airport, making international travel to a wide variety of destinations simple.
The University of South Wales is also proud to be engaging in research providing solutions to modern challenges, including research into climate change, COVID-19 and the economy.

USW Enterprise offers support specific to self-employment, freelancing or starting a business. The university offers support at all stages of planning up until the launch of a business, so students can access guidance at every step of the way.

The University of South Wales guarantees an offer of accommodation to all full-time, first-year undergraduates, subject to terms and conditions. The offer may be for a room in one of the university's halls of residence, or an offer of a room in a hall managed by a designated provider may be made.
Prices for the university's accommodation ranges from £94 per week to £180 per week. The private accommodation partners the university work with also offer rooms within this price range. All prices in halls of residence include utility bills, laundry facilities, security and maintenance, and free internet. Some of the accommodation options have an ‘early bird' offer, whereby students can receive a discount on their accommodation if they opt to pay up front, but of course, there are terms and conditions to this offer.
If you don't want to live in halls of residence, or can't, the university has an approved search tool to help you find accommodation with private landlords throughout the area. Prices for private accommodation will vary and you may have to organise your own utility payments depending on the type of agreement.
Scholarships and bursaries at the University of South Wales are subject to change but the university is committed to ensuring students who require additional financial support or who excel can receive additional funding. For new undergraduates, you may be eligible for this additional support if you are living in postcode area NP, play sport at a high level, plan to study part of your course in Welsh, identify with certain minority ethnic backgrounds, or have refugee status.
Scholarships and bursaries are all non-repayable, unlike tuition fee loans and maintenance loans, which all new UK undergraduate students can apply for. The exact amount and way in which you receive scholarships or bursaries will depend on which you are eligible for, as each one is different. Some may be paid in instalments throughout the academic year into your bank account, or others may be awarded as a single lump sum. Some bursaries may be for a specific purpose, so the money may be put directly towards something that benefits you rather than being sent to your bank account.
The University of South Wales offers a variety of different course options for students, dependent on the subject of study. You may be able to apply for courses with a foundation year, and some courses also offer the chance to go on a placement year, offering you the chance to get work-based experience as a part of your degree. Students have gone to work for a wide variety of businesses on their year in industry, making this an excellent opportunity to gain skills and add to your CV.
The university is a part of ‘Global Wales Discover', offering students funding to undertake short placements abroad, either for work, volunteering or studying.
