There are halls of residence at all three of USW’s campus locations: Cardiff, Newport and Pontypridd. So, whether students want campus living or a city centre experience, they can choose whichever they prefer. 

Many students choose to live in Cardiff, even if they study at a different campus. There are several student halls in the city centre, as well as a huge choice of private rentals. Halls at Pontypridd are on campus and they’re a big part of the community atmosphere that students love.

With over 1,200 rooms and students from all over the UK and the world, it’s a great way to make friends for life. At Newport, private halls are just a couple of minutes’ walk from campus and right on the bank of the River Usk, with different room packages to choose from.

“It's big and spacious. The kitchen is nice. The neighbourhood is safe and nice too. It is cheap and affordable."

"Very modern. Ensuite bathrooms for all room types. Thick walls and doors - do not hear anyone in their rooms. TV in lounge for Mountain Halls residents. Always clean and great facilities - including access to 'The Hub' (pool tables, vending machines, TV, toilets etc)."

"University halls for USW are amazing! They're so clean and modern with such helpful staff. It's also located about two minutes from uni. Private housing is usually in Cathays which is a very friendly and safe area full of students and located twenty minutes walk from the centre of Cardiff."

As well as facilities for each subject, the latest learning technologies are an integral part of study. There are virtual learning systems to access course materials anytime and anywhere, and to deliver a blended learning experience.
