Courses and lecturers

A variety of teaching methods are implemented in Salford’s programme of degree courses. In addition to lectures, students are taught in smaller, interactive classes where they are expected to contribute to discussions and debates with their classmates and tutors, discussing key issues from the lectures.

Practical work, projects, research, debates, essays and exams are just some of the ways in which students are assessed, depending on subject and academic year. Each student is allocated a personal tutor to provide academic guidance and to act as a first port of call for any issues or challenges that may arise while studying.

Student reviewers have found lecturers to be attentive to their needs, and a number highlighted the practical elements of their courses as being particularly enjoyable and interesting.
