ULIP students can make the most of life in Paris by getting involved with the university’s welcoming and active students’ union. There is a yearly timetable of events and activities for students to get involved in, introducing them to the wider university community and helping them get to know the local area. Participation is encouraged and all students are more than welcome to help organise the fun.
Students can drop by the SU any day to find group study sessions in progress or time for a coffee and a chat in aid of promoting mental wellness. The SU is also very involved in volunteering and charity fundraising, and students can find plenty of opportunities to help.
Societies on offer include football, rugby, skiing, radio and politics, and there’s even a society dedicated to drinking wine. Although a small students’ union, there’s something for everyone and it’s a great way for students to meet like-minded individuals.
Students can choose from a wide range of student-led societies at ULIP to suit every interest. There are groups where students can bond over shared heritage or languages, musical groups from karaoke to classical, societies devoted to indulging in all the finest food Paris has to offer, and sports clubs to help students stay fit and healthy. Full details of the clubs and societies on offer is available to view at the ULIP SU website.
Students can also keep busy and add some important skills to their CV by signing up to write for the university newspaper or taking part in the student-operated radio station.
Paris is a truly inspiring city, striking a balance between cosmopolitan and international, yet quintessentially French. Paris caters to all tastes; students can enjoy the quiet life, taking walks along the River Seine and relaxing in the many manicured parks, gardens and green spaces.
Or for those more interested in Paris’ social scene, there are plenty of cafés, bars and clubs to enjoy, from upmarket wine bars to popular student spots and underground nightclubs. Students can also dine at some of the world’s top restaurants.
There’s no mystery why Paris is one of the world’s fashion capitals. With thousands of independent stores as well as high-street shopping and high-end fashion, it’s a hub of creativity and glamour.
Brimming with culture, Paris has hundreds of excellent museums, art galleries, theatres and cinemas. For those students with a strong wanderlust, it’s also easy to travel further into Europe on the Eurostar and other interstate rail services.
ULIP is located right in the heart of Paris’s historic quarter, giving students have access to all of this, right on their doorstep.
