The union is really good with a shop, a night club and two bars! Plus an advice centre, a Waterstones and lots of friendly staff around with a lot going on with societies and sports.
Founded in 1927, the University of Hull has a long history of academic excellence. It ranks 58th in the UK (Complete University Guide 2023) and is the official university partner of Team GB. Based in East Yorkshire, halfway between London and Edinburgh, the university is ideally located close to many other major UK cities.
Although the University of Hull is the 14th oldest university in the UK, over £300 million is being invested into its facilities. New developments include a floodlit pitch, an eight-court sports hall and a fitness suite. Other impressive facilities include a surround sound cinema, performance venue and recently refurbished seven-storey library. Here students have access to over one million books and journals, a cafe, study spaces and even an art gallery.
Hull is known for cobbled streets, indie cafes, food festivals, famous clubs and more. It’s also one of the UK’s most affordable cities (Numbeo 2022). It’s cheaper than Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, York and Sheffield. Rent is also amongst the lowest in the country, meaning money goes a lot further in Hull.
The award-winning students’ union is home to a popular bar, Asylum nightclub and places to eat. There are more than 140 clubs, societies and faith groups and students can get advice on anything from money to mental health.
