Halls of residence offer the best of both worlds, giving freedom and independence, with support close at hand. Most rooms are en-suite and prices for 2020/21 range from £123 to £197 per week, including all utility bills, internet and basic contents insurance.
They are located either on-campus or in the heart of Cheltenham town or Gloucester city centre. Opened in 2017, Pittville Student Village in Cheltenham is an 800-room community of villas, townhouses and studio apartments with a refectory, bar, gym, multi-use studio, launderette, faith space and 24/7 on-site security. A subsidised university bus runs to all campuses and Cheltenham town centre, which is only a 20-minute walk away.
Opened in 2018, the Blackfriars residence provides over 300 bedrooms within flats, townhouses and studio apartments in the middle of bustling Gloucester, just a stone’s throw from Gloucester Quays with its bars, restaurants, designer shopping and cinema. Blackfriars is a short walk from the bus station, offering easy access to Oxstalls campus (or it’s a 25-minute walk).
For those looking for private accommodation, a large database of approved private housing in both Cheltenham and Gloucester is available that meets strict health and safety standards. Many new students prefer this option as it means they can start living more independently with other students straight away.
