We come across lots of misconceptions about what Clearing is and who it's for. It can be for everyone! Let us guide you through the process and give you the latest information, including how we'll support you to get your place, and throughout your time with us.

What is Clearing?

Clearing is another chance for you to find the right place at the right university.

When is Clearing?

July – October 2025. You can apply as soon as you have your results.

Who can go through Clearing?

You can apply if you:

Have declined your offer(s)
Had your offer(s) declined
Haven't received an offer or haven't applied yet

How can I secure my place?

You can contact lots of universities to see if they'll accept you. When you've chosen the offer you want, add it to your UCAS Hub.
Only add a choice if you've spoken to the university and been made an offer.
Offers may only be valid for a limited time.
When you've added your choice and the university accepts you, you'll be sent a letter/email to confirm your place.

How can I prepare?

Start looking on university websites to see which courses are available.
Take a virtual tour to get a feel for the campus.
Think about questions you might ask an academic and why you're interested in the course.
Revisit your personal statement to remind yourself of how good you are!

How can I apply?

Contact universities directly – not through UCAS.
Call the Clearing hotline – be prepared to give your grades, course choice and personal Clearing number (check your UCAS Hub).

How will I be supported?

Our friendly staff will be there to support you every step of the way, with advice on any aspect of uni, such as finance, accommodation and student life. You can apply for a course and discover somewhere new to live and study.

What happens next when you choose University of Gloucestershire through Clearing

Once your place to study at University of Gloucestershire is confirmed, it's time to start planning to come to university! This is an exciting time to prepare for and we can't wait to welcome you to our student community.

Moving into halls of residence is scheduled to start in early September, induction and welcome week for new students will start from 15 September, and teaching will start from 22 September.

So, if you are yet to secure a place in our halls of residence, visit our accommodation page now before places are taken up. Here you can explore individual halls with a virtual tour and book your place.
