What is Clearing?

Clearing is part of the UCAS application process that matches students to available university places. It opens on 5 July 2025 and runs until the end of September. You can apply through Clearing if:

Once you've applied to the University of East London through Clearing, the next steps are designed to be clear and supportive—so you can focus on preparing for your future.

1. Confirmation of Offer

If you've applied online or spoken to our Clearing team, you'll receive a verbal offer or an offer via email. This is conditional on you adding UEL as your Clearing choice on UCAS. Make sure you check your email regularly (including spam/junk folders).

2. Add UEL on UCAS

Log into your UCAS Hub and click ''Add Clearing choice.'' Enter the course details we provided. Once submitted, UCAS notifies us, and we'll confirm your place—usually within 24–48 hours.

3. Offer Confirmation and Welcome Email

Once confirmed, you'll receive an official email welcoming you to UEL. This will include key information about enrolment, accommodation, and your first steps as a new student.

4. Prepare for Enrolment

You'll be guided through our online enrolment process. Have your ID, qualifications, and any required documents ready. If you're applying for student finance, contact Student Finance England as soon as possible to update your university details.

5. Get Ready to Start

From September, you'll join a diverse and supportive community in East London. You'll have access to everything you need to succeed—world-class facilities, career support, and a network of staff and students ready to welcome you.
