The University of Chester’s dedicated Careers and Employability team provides a variety of employability-enhancing experiences. The University was ranked in the top ten for job prospects in the 2020 Whatuni Student Choice Awards, with 90 per cent of UK full-time first-degree graduates in employment or further study 15 months after graduation (Graduate Outcomes Survey 2018/19).
Career consultants provide expert guidance to students at Chester, and the Employer Engagement team benefits students through its links with employers and professional bodies. The University’s UniJob service and CareerHub portal enable students to apply for part-time jobs, and there is a paid Workplace Experience programme which includes internships and work experience for students to gain competitive employment skills.
The Chester Difference Award allows students to showcase their experience to future employers. The Venture Programme helps students develop the skills, confidence and connections to start a business, enter self-employment or build a freelance career.
