Taught

There are over 200 taught courses to choose from at the University of Bradford, spanning many departments and subject areas. These courses are led by professional academics from around the world, many of whom have worked and fought overseas, and are able to communicate their knowledge with enthusiasm and teach skills which last a lifetime.

The university offers flexible ways to study its impressive portfolio of programmes, offering some as part-time options, with start dates available in September and January for many courses. Other courses can be studied as a series of modular awards, giving students the option and flexibility to have breaks between each unit, if needed.

Research

The University of Bradford is well-known for the quality of its research output and has been formally recognised for this in the most recent Research Excellence Framework (REF 2014), in which over 90 per cent of the university’s research was found to be world-leading, internationally excellent, or internationally recognised.

Bradford aims to create knowledge through the work of its research groups, to benefit society and improve the lives of people all over the world. The university has a global network of research institutions and professional partners, with whom it shares information and resources, and postgraduate students will become part of this ecosystem of information and applied academia.

The Postgraduate Research Framework provides opportunities to support and help students with their research while at the university, and provides tailored preparation for meaningful employment which is relevant to each student’s personal interests and professional goals.

Distance learning

Bradford delivers a constantly evolving portfolio of postgraduate degree courses and professional qualifications, and over the past few years has committed significant resources to developing its range of distance learning course options. There are several distance learning courses available, in a variety of subject areas including health studies, life sciences and management and law.

Postgraduates choosing to study remotely can access all the same support services that campus students use on-site, and have the benefit of flexible study, allowing them to self-organise their university work around existing professional and personal commitments.

These courses can also be completed from anywhere in the world, making the university’s high-quality curriculum available to students from all backgrounds and locations, and creating a truly global postgraduate community.
