The Green is a student accommodation village located at the centre of campus, only a short walk from lecture halls, the Students’ Union and the city centre. It is designed with sustainability in mind and has features like solar sourced energy, rainwater harvesting and food growing areas.
The Green offers accommodation in six-bedroom apartments or 12-bedroom townhouses, with social spaces and garden areas. Each apartment has six en-suite bedrooms, and a shared kitchen/dining area and living space.
The townhouses are built like traditional terraced houses, with four bedrooms and two shared bathrooms per floor, and a shared open plan living/kitchen space.
There’s an on-site launderette, free Wi-Fi, 24-hour security and a social student lounge, as well as a Site Team and student wardens to help students living there, and also to organise events on-site, and trips further afield.
Every first-year student is guaranteed a place in the university accommodation. Contracts last for 42 weeks.
The University of Bradford has an excellent range of facilities available at its city-centre campus.
The campus has won many awards due to the sustainable approach to its development. Buildings are made from hemp, there are edible gardens on-site, and even beehives, which are looked after by student beekeepers.
The Student Central is a place to access a range of entertainment and support services. It is the base of UBU (the Students’ Union), where students can find information about clubs, societies and events. It is also home to the student radio station - RamAir, Bradford Student Cinema, the union shop, university bars and social spaces.
The university has excellent sports facilities, including the Unique Fitness Centre, housing a gym, swimming pool and climbing wall; and the Sports Park, only 5 minutes from campus, with a physio room and 3G pitches.
There’s plenty of food and drink venues on campus including CURB - deli bar, Atrium Coffee Bar and Peckish Rotisserie Chicken Bar.
