Dundee is a buzzing student city which has recently been named 'best place to live in Scotland' and the UK's 'coolest little city'. It's compact, friendly and affordable - a great place to live for a student with plenty of things to do and endless bars to visit.
The city is full of fascinating history and is the UK's first ever UNESCO City of Design. Its main sites include visiting Discovery Point to see the RRS Discovery (a historic ship that sailed on Antarctic expeditions), the Verdant Works ex-mill, the Maritime Trail and the V&A Dundee which displays some stunning architecture and design. It is a vibrant coastal city with many restaurants, cafes, pubs and shops as well as outdoor activity options.

The Abertay Connect platform also provides job-search tools, help with your CV, career events, and interview prep. You will explore career different paths, develop employability skills and find work experience, learning how to market yourself professionally.
Abertay's partnership with Santander via the Santander Employability Scheme really strengthens the university's graduate outcomes. It offers paid, short-term placements with SMEs, helping students gain real-world experience before graduation. Abertay has good graduate outcomes rates with 76% of its students on track to their chosen career path and 71% successfully finding skilled employment upon graduating.

Abertay provides a diverse range of financial support for its students. There are scholarships for high achieving students and bursaries for need-based students.
If you're applying from Scotland, you may qualify for the Care Experienced Student Bursary, the Dundee Education Trust or Disabled Students' Allowance. There's also support for estranged students and student carers. And if you're a single parent over 25, you might also be able to apply for the Lone Parents' Grant and the Lone Parents' Childcare Grant.
If you are a student from elsewhere in the UK and are from a low-income household, you may be eligible for the Abertay rUK Bursary (rest of UK). And if you're a high achiever in certain subjects, you could be eligible for the rUK Scholarship. Both offer around £1000 per year to help towards tuition fees and living costs and do not need to be paid back.
If you're an international student, you could apply for the International Undergraduate Scholarship. This offers up to £12,000 total (£3,000 per year for up to 4 years).
